Abstract

Habrobracon syzygiumae sp. nov., is described from New Delhi, India, with the specimens reared from Noctuides sp. (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) on Syzygium jambolanum (Lam.) (Myrtales: Myrtaceae). This new species is distinct in its propodeal carina, length: width ratio of I flagellar segment being 8:5, length of its ovipositor, and antenna, leg and mesoscutum, which are black. A key to the Indian species and comments on few Indian species are also given. The voucher specimens including the types are deposited with the National Pusa Collection, Division of Entomology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India.
