Abstract

Elatine paramoana, a new species from the high Andean region of the Cordillera Oriental in Colombia, is described, illustrated, and compared to its nearest relatives,E. ecuadoriensis andE. fassettiana. Notes on morphological variation and general ecology and a key to the central and northern Andes species are also given.
