Abstract

A simple, portable instrument for the determination of carbon dioxide concentration in atmospheric air by non-aqueous titration is described. The method can be used in the range 10–10,000 p.p.m. 50-ml air samples containing about 300 p.p.m. CO 2 can be analyzed with an accuracy of ± 3%. With increasing sample size the accuracy increases. A simple device is used to compensate for the influence of temperature and pressure. The time required for one titration is about 2 min.
