Abstract

The genus Iranoidricerus Ábrahám & Mészáros, 2002 was created for Iranoidricerus iranensis (Kimmins, 1938) described earlier in the genus Ptyngidricerus Van der Weele, 1908. A second species of the genus Iranoidricerus jordaniensis sp. n. is described from Jordan. The new species has similar habitus to I. iranensis but has many distinctive features on the head, antennae, wings and abdomen. The ranges of the two species are separated by more than 900 kilometres, I. iranensis was documented in East Turkey and Iran and I. jordanensis was recorded in the mountainous areas in northwestern Jordan. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:73F7417B-1E34-48E4-8A91-7AAAD4EC5FA7
