A new organic conductor (BEDT-TTF) 5Cl 3(H 2O) 5

Abstract

A new organic conductor of (BEDT-TTF) 5 Cl 3 (H 2 O) 5 has been synthesized by electrochemical method. The salt exhibits metallic properties at room-temperature (σ=20S cm -1 ) and undergoes a metal-insulator transition at 160K. The crystal structure was determined. Polarized IR reflectance spectra were measured over the frequency range 650∼6500cm -1 for different polarization of the IR light. Raman spectra of single crystal as well as ESR spectra were also studies.
