Abstract

In this paper, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method for a stand-alone variable speed wind turbine using permanet magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is proposed. Fuzzy logic control (FLC) is employed to achieve the MPPT of wind generator using hill climb searching (HCS) method, which does not require any information about the generator's characteristics or climatic conditions. Simulation results are given to show the effectiveness and the good performances of the proposed method in various climatic and operating conditions.
