Abstract

In today's digital world, many of our daily tasks are related to the internet so security of data or information that being transmitted over internet is very important. For many applications, we are transmitting the secret image over internet and that secret image may contain confidential or private information and it may happen that any attackers or unintended person try to read these secret information. So, to protect these secret image which may contain confidential or private information from any unauthorized person or attackers i.e. from leakage some security is required. Number of methods and techniques has been developed for the security of images. Out of them image encryption and data hiding are generally used techniques. Image encryption method ensures security but drawback of image encryption is that the resultant image is a noise image that may attracts the attention of an attacker and using number of trials hackers can extract the information. Another method is data hiding in which secret image is hidden behind a carrier image but due to data hiding cover image has experiencing eternal problems. Now a day in the field of digital image processing, a new concept is used namely mosaic image for secure image transmission. In this paper, a new kind of mosaic image is being created known as secret fragment visible mosaic image for hiding the existence of secret image with the help of target image. Here, mosaic image is created by dividing secret image into small tiles and with the help of target image these tiles are arranged in puzzled format. Then reversible color transformation is used on created mosaic image to look it similar to the target image. To recover original secret image from the created mosaic image, sufficient information is embedded into the mosaic image with the help of enhanced LSB algorithm.
