Abstract
A new high-pressure equilibrium cell to obtain data for systems containing fluids and solids is presented. By using the static synthetic method, an experimental unit was commissioned to obtain phase transition data at pressures up to 1000 bar, and temperatures ranging from 253 to 473 K. Measured phase transition data include new data for liquid-vapor, liquid-liquid, liquid-liquid-vapor, solid-liquid, and solid-liquid-liquid of CO2 + n-hexadecane, CO2 + n-eicosane, and CO2 + n-tetracosane binary systems. Results are compared to those from literature and show that the new experimental cell setup presents a good performance and allows to explore regions where traditionally, accurate experimental data are scarce.
