Abstract

A new polymorphic phase, characterised by a face-centered cubic structure, with lattice parameter 5.83 ± 0.02 A ̊ , has been identified in thin films of yttrium. Electron diffraction evidence and electrical resistivity measurements have been carried out in order to detect the new f.c.c. phase.
