Abstract

It has been 16 years since the death of Chingiz Aitmatov and 44 years since the publication of his The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years novel. This is a great test for a work of art. And the name of Ch. Aitmatov’s name is becoming clearer with the years. The meanings and secrets of his works are revealed, their height and depth are revealed. Therefore, the approach to the life and work of the great writer should be updated and supplemented. On the novel appeared the best articles, studies, methodological literature. The task ahead is to collect and publish them, analyze them and make them available to teachers. It will be fruitful if such a problem is posed not only in relation to the novel, but also in relation to the life and work of the writer as a whole. Especially on the threshold of the writer's centenary, which will be in five years, it should be done as soon as possible. In this novel, although all events revolve around one man, the problem in it is not the problem of one person, one region or one nation, but the problem of all mankind. Its significance has now reached an even more urgent level. The issues of war and peace, mankurtization seem more acute now than in Ch. Aitmatov’s lifetime. It is not an easy task, but it is necessary to explain to students the main plots, meaning, images and artistry of the work. Due to this, this article considered the development of students’ consciousness, patriotism, humanism, creativity and thinking.
