Abstract

The work presents a systematic approach to designing and developing a metamaterial-based ultra-wideband absorber with a prime focus on attaining more than 99% absorption for ultra-wideband covering a bandwidth of 8.23 GHz from 11.17 to 19.40 GHz. However, the proposed absorber achieves more than 95% absorption from 9.77 to 20.87 GHz, covering a bandwidth of 11.10 GHz. The structure provides a full-width half-maximum of 17.68 GHz from 6.67 to 24.35 GHz. The proposed absorber demonstrating polarization-insensitive behaviour and broad incident angle stability affirm that the proposed absorber stands up for incorporation in practical applications.
