Abstract

On October 25, 1985, legal papers of incorporation were filed in the State of Delaware to establish the National Foundation for Applied Combustion Toxicology (NFACT) as a not-for-profit corporation. One objective of this new organization is to provide independent guidance on evaluation of materials for the toxicity of their combustion products for use by manufacturers, specifiers, authorities having jurisdiction and other concerned parties. It also plans research and educational projects in participation with other private and public organizations to improve fire safety.
