Abstract
In the mire region "Nagyberek" the turf cutting and drying up have changed the ancient conditions, but natural plant communities in smaller range exist yet on the area. Recent investigations reveal the occurrence of 557 vascular plant species among them 16 are water plants, 4 of mud communities, 69 of mires, 84 of wet meadows and hayfields, 49 of dry grasses, 57 of deciduous forests, 125 of weed communities and 153 others. The high ratio of weeds and species of week cenological affinity corresponds to the anthropogenic changes of the region, but in the relict mires such characteristic species occur as Acorus calamus, Cirsium brachycephalum, Juncus maritimus, Lathyrus palustris, Ranunculus lingua, Samolus valerandi, Thelypteris palustris, Urtica kioviensis. The salinization process of fens is indicated by the association Astero pannoniciSchoenetum nigricantis Lájer 2006.
