Abstract

AbstractBusiness organizations have been implementing computer-based management information systems (MIS) since the mid-1960's. TCU has offered an MIS course since 1971. A number of original approaches have been developed by the faculty members teaching the course. The result is a set of classroom-proven materials that provide students with several options for “hands-on” involvement — cases and case solution techniques, both small and large decision support systems, and formats for field projects. The authors describe each approach and make recommendations based on their experiences.
