Abstract

The magnetic structure of CaMn 7O 12 was investigated by neutron powder diffraction measurements in temperatures from 1.7 K to RT. We observed several magnetic reflections which appear around 86 K. Their 2θ positions shift considerably and get broader between 30 and 50 K, where an anomaly in magnetic susceptibility exists. These phenomena can be due to a modulated magnetic arrangement of the magnetic moments of Mn ions with a strongly temperature-dependent modulation period. An estimate of the value of the magnetic moments is given.
