Abstract

A project engineer employed in the field of power plants needs an effective instrument for designing and comparing of energy-cycle concepts when planning new stations or when modifying the flow concept of existing plants. The offered method is considered as such an instrument. Its special feature is based on its consequent modulating which allows adaptation to every cycle concept. The hierarchical structure, the dependence of program modules when operating with one another and the possibility of enlarging the scope of modules are shown by an example. Finally, a typical application of the method will be demonstrated by means of a combined gas-steam turbine power plant.
