Abstract

In this paper, an improved MODE-TOEP algorithm for direction-of-arrival estimation of coherent signals is proposed based on uniform circular array. The output data after mode space transformation can be used to reconstruct a Toeplitz matrix, and the correlations between this Toeplitz matrix and any two received data are obtained. After Hermitian transpositing and forward and backward smoothing, the equivalent sample matrix is transformed to a Hermitian matrix for DOA estimation of coherent signals, which solves the problem that the MODE-TOEP is used incomplete information by constructing only one Toeplitz matrix. The simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm has a better estimation performance and probability of resolution than the MODE-TOEP method.
