Abstract
The Maxwell-Eucken equation is anomalous because the alternative forms of the equation yield different numerical results for the thermal conductivity of a two component mixture or solution. The author has modified it by introducing an additional parameter which is a function of the ratio of the thermal conductivities of the components and overcomes this anomaly.
