Abstract
A method of marking young ungulates was developed using a nylon streamer attached to the Achilles tendon by means of a jesse knot. Eight white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), two mule deer (0. hemionus), and 29 pronghom antelope (Antilocapra americana) were marked in this fashion. The markers were retained for at least 9 months and were observable at 300 yards with binoculars. No infection or impairment of leg movement was observed.
