Abstract
This paper describes a hybrid method of particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm and genetic algorithm (GA) optimization to synthesize millimeter wave lens antennas with flattop radiation pattern. This hybrid algorithm is beneficial to enhance the optimization efficiency and avoid falling into the local optimum. The designed lens antenna (LA) has 30° flat top radiation pattern in both the E-plane and H-plane. The antenna is optimized automatically, and it would be convenient. The simulated result shows that the antenna meets the design requirements and has the maximum gain of 12.03dBi.
