Abstract
We report a proposal for, and preliminary results on, fabricating a ‘smart’ phase conjugating antenna which uses the unique properties of perovskite structured oxides including HTS and ferroelectric materials. The operating principles and design criteria are presented, followed by some preliminary experimental results and a look ahead to future developments. The proposed design includes mixer and multiplier components based on Josephson junctions, passive HTS band-pass filters, SrTiO3-based superconducting coplanar waveguide phase shifters and flux-flow transistor microwave amplification.
