Abstract
A simple battery operated counting integrator was developed for field integration of millivolt analog signals. The circuit uses a micropower operational amplifier and C/MOS digital circuitry to minimize current drain. Two small mercury batteries operate the circuit for an entire growing season. An error analysis indicates that errors are smaller than 1% of full scale (5 mV) for signals between 0.5 and 5 mV over a temperature range of 0°–50°C.
