Abstract

Statistical data revealed that the Alabama wild fur harvest for the 1950-51 season totaled $411,114. Figures for computation were obtained through questionnaires mailed from the Alabama Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit to a random sample of trappers. Since every person who traps must purchase a license and procure tax tags for all pelts sold, the questionnaire technique was considered to provide reliable data.
