Naval Engineers JournalVolume 76, Issue 4 p. 563-568 A METHOD OF CALCULATING STIFFENER-PLATING SECTION MODULI LIEUTENANT COMMANDER KEATING KEAYS, LIEUTENANT COMMANDER KEATING KEAYS USN, Ret. THE AUTHOR: LIEUTENANT COMMANDER KEATING KEAYS, USN, Ret. graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1949. After serving in Destroyers for three years he attended graduate school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology receiving his Naval Engineer's degree in 1955. This was followed by Submarine School and a tour in Submarines. From 1957 to 1959 he joined the firm of Morris Guralnick as a Naval Architect engaging in both submarine and surface ship design. In 1959 he returned to active duty with the Navy as an Engineering Duty Officer serving in the San Francisco Naval Shipyard and from 1961 to 1963 he served in the Bureau of Ships.
