Abstract

Abstract An active silicic acid sol was added to a mixture of a Ca(NO3)2 aqueous solution and a NaOH aqueous solution, then the mixture was heated for several hours under stirring at 100–150°C to obtain a silica sol. The silica sol consisted of elongated-shaped colloidal particles desirable for film formation.
