Abstract

Abstract The paper outlines briefly the organization which has in charge the materials-handling activities of the Westinghouse Elec. & Mfg. Co. at East Pittsburgh. It describes the equipment used, the operation of it, and the methods of its control, and several of the wage-incentive plans which are used in the payment of the employees of the Plant Transportation Department. The paper concludes with a statement of some of the economies resulting from the organization described.
