Abstract

The thesis indicates the relation between the motive of the sun and the motive of the transience of life in the short story "When it sets, the sun is the most wonderful", written by Slobodan Dzunic, as well as the absurdity of a man's fight for the ideals. The introversion that the main character Tanas shows has been unmasked through the motive of a mosquito, which presents hereby a dynamic motive and symbol of everything which tickles a man, and stings him and leaves wounds. The emphasis was put also on the duality of Dzunic's attitude towards tradition: mythical image of the world connects this writer with tradition, while his specific language and style do not alienate him.
