Abstract
This paper presents a method to characterize the stability of tunable active frequency selective surface, which covers the incidence of electromagnetic wave at different angles and the switching of frequency bands. It provides a method for determining the angular stability and tuning stability of tunable frequency selective surface. At the same time, based on the coupling principle, taking the spanner shaped patch as the basic unit, a coupling AFSS with good angular and tuning stability is designed by the annular design of the patch and the enhancement of coupling action. The simulation results show that AFSS can be tuned in a wide range from 6.36GHz to 8.81GHz by changing the external magnetic field to rotate the upper layer. According to the characterization method, the designed AFSS has good stability in the oblique incidence of electromagnetic wave from 0° to 80°, and maintains good tuning stability between frequency bands.
