Abstract
This letter proposes a method to reduce the loss of multi-stage RC polyphase filters (PPFs), which are capable of generating in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) output signals in a broadband bandwidth. The proposed two-stage PPF operation was evaluated in the high-precision vector-sum phase shifter. The simulation results show that the replacement of the conventional PPF-I with the proposed PPF does not affect the phase shift performance of the phase shifter, while the overall loss will be reduced about 1.4 dB.
