Abstract

Sea nettle (Chrysaora quinquecirrha) fishing tentacles were studied with thick (0.5–1.5 μ) and thin sections of Epon or Araldite embedded material. Light and electron microscopic findings were correlated in order to define the different types of threads, nematocysts, and nematocytes present. At least ten different types of nematocytes were identified.
