Abstract
A modification of the Green-Ampt equation for one-dimensional vertical infiltration into homogeneous soils is proposed. Infiltration is conceived to be occurring in a two-layered soil consisting of saturated and unsaturated zones. The predictions from the proposed model are in good agreement with Philip's results for infiltration into Yolo light clay.
