Abstract

An effective way to improve the matching characteristic of a large-scale substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot array antenna is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. Firstly, a SIW ferrite resonance isolator and a 32×32 slot array antenna are modeled and simulated by Ansoft HFSS, respectively. Then, these components are combined and integrated as a single one. The comparison between the designed 32×32 slot array antennas with and without isolator shows that the S11 is improved at least 5dB within 9.5-10.5GHz bandwidth and more than 30dB at 10GHz.
