Abstract
A circularly polarized (CP) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot array antenna with enhanced scanning range is presented. The antenna can create a circularly polarized wave with a series of orthogonal linearly polarized (LP) slots. And its scanning range is enhanced by using a meandering structure. In the operating band of 12.5-17.5 GHz, simulated scanning angle of the proposed antenna is from −47° to +22°. The 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of the antenna is 1.7 GHz (14.3-16.0Hz). In all, its simple structure, low-cost manufacture and great performance contribute to its potential applications in wireless communication and radar systems.
