Abstract

Abstract A-L 42 is intended as a controlled-expansion alloy for applications in the electronics and electrical industries. It is used in conjunction with certain glass (0120, 0010, 1075, etc.) and other nonmetallic materials in sealing applications. A-L 42 is AOD (Argon Oxygen Decarburization) refined in 100-ton heats to insure high quality and uniformity. Its applications include semi-conductor lead frames, sealed-beam automobile headlamps and industrial lamps. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Fe-62. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
