Abstract

Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) is increasingly adopted in engineering design currently, especially for complex engineering systems, however, the computation complexity and organization complexity are the two main obstacles in applying MDO. In order to degrade the computation complexity and organization complexity of MDO problem, in this paper, the BLISS method is adopted to decompose the complex engineering system and design the MDO process, to further deploy the MDO process among distributed cross-organizational design teams, an advanced hybrid P2P architecture is built to provide an inter-enterprises environment for MDO. At last, the case study of Small Water- Plane-Area Twin Hull (SWATH) MDO is given to show the actual operation of the proposed distributed MDO architecture.
