Abstract
AbstractA complete review of developments in rolling during the last decade would have to cover thousands of published papers and also much unpublished work; comprehensive coverage would thus become impossible within the confines of a short review. In the earlier review of this series, Ford concentrated on the theory of flat rolling. Books devoted wholly or partly to rolling contain many of the theoretical and some of the practical apects of rolling. A comparison of practices prevailing in the ferrous and non-ferrous industries was the subject of a series of recent meetings. All aspects are covered by the many articles appearing each year, abstracted in Metals Abstracts and its predecessors, the ASM Review of Metal Literature, the Institute of Metals Metallurgical Abstracts, and the Abstracts of the Journal of the Iron and Steel Institute.
