Abstract

In the summer of 1989 the geophysical contractor Geco, working in Dutch waters of the North Sea, collected approximately 60 000 line-km of 3-D seismic data in a 70 day period. Just a few years ago, this would have represented about five crew‐years of effort. Geco claims a record of 2057.7 line-km collected in a single day during the course of that survey.
