Abstract

Abstract In this paper the history of research info race attitudes in South Africa is traced from 1930 through 1975. Four periods are distinguished and from the discussion it is clear that three South Africans have made a meaningful contribution to research in this field. Finally, closer cooperation between the various disciplines and between individual researchers and large research organizations is called for.
