Abstract

In this paper, a compact bandpass filter has been newly designed and fabricated for 5.5–6 GHz wireless receiver system by embedding all passive elements into a single piece of low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate. In order to reduce its size, it's newly designed by using ground capacitance at the end of short-circuited stub. Moreover, two transmission zeros are generated to achieve the steep attenuation of the band-edge by the induction of cross coupling. The measured insertion loss in the passband is less than 2 dB, return loss is better than −20 dB, the stop band suppression is better than −35dB from 2GHz to 5GHz and from 6.5GHz to 9GHz. The size of the fabricated LTCC bandpass filter is only 2.5mm × 3.2mm × 1.5mm.
