Abstract
A high resolution voltage to frequency type digitiser is described, suitable for recording secondary electron spectra with sufficient resolution to allow the shape of Auger features and electron loss features to be determined directly. The digitiser has an amplitude resolution of 10000 and it takes approximately 2-3 min to record a spectrum of 250 data points. The performance of the digitiser is demonstrated with some results for a clean Ag(111) surface.
