Abstract

A high-efficiency BiOCl/TiO2 heterostructure hollow-tube (BTHTs) with type-II was successfully synthesized by simple electrospinning technology and solvothermal process loaded with BiOCl nanosheets on TiO2 hollow-tubes (THTs). The results of morphology show that, the surface of THTs was covered by flaky BiOCl like pieces of flower. Optical and photo-electrochemical characterizations show that the composite catalyst has visible light absorption and high photo-generated electron-hole separation ability. Comparing with THTs and powder BiOCl, the BTHTs composites exhibited highest adsorption capacity and photocatalytic activity in the photodegradation of Tetracycline (TC), in visible light (λ ≥ 420 nm). The composites could also degrade Chlortetracycline, Demeclocycline, Doxycycline and Oxytetracycline efficaciously. Additionally, trapping experiments were carried out, and the possible photocatalytic degradation mechanism was proposed.
