Abstract

As the urban power grid gradually develops into the petal-type grid structure, it is of great significance to research on the precise ground fault location of the petal-type new urban power grid. Firstly, in this paper, the single-phase and two-phase grounding faults in the petal-type urban power grid is analyzed. Secondly, as the correlation between the zero-sequence current at both ends of the faulted lines is fully utilized, a new grounding fault location approach is proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method has been validated with a petal-type urban power grid model in the PSCAD / EMTDC environment.
