Abstract

A design of high-current nanosecond generators with discharge of an inductive energy storage into a 15 Ω resistive load and test data are presented. Parameters of the opening switch made as an electrical explosive current interrupter are optimized. When the voltage applied to the inductive energy storage is 50 kV, the amplitude of the load voltage is 500 kV, and the half-height pulse duration is 250 ns with a pulse power up to 20 GW.
