Abstract

Using deficient operation data, safety assessment of a spherical shape core of a nuclear power plant is investigated for the core falling failure accident. The proposed shutdown system is analyzed in the new design of the reactor, which is called a spherical isotropic power reactor. Considering the system features, a new design could give advanced results in the economical as well as the safety aspects. The geometrical configuration of the spherical isotropic power reactor is introduced. In the aspect of the nano-scale consideration, safety assessment is incorporated with the fuzzy set theory, because the raw data are deficient. The most reasonable safe time is the 14th year of the lifetime. The results are incorporated with the stability of the new system.
