Abstract

A three-dimentional lanthanide metal–organic framework (Eu-cdip) was designed and synthesized through the assembly for Eu3+ ion and ligand 5,5′-carbonyldiisophthalic acid (H4cdip). It displayed the specific emission of Eu3+ ions in water of pH from 2 to 11. Furthermore, it could be used as a selective fluorescent probe for detecting 4-(diethylamino)salicylaldehyde. The lower detection limit of Eu-cdip for detecting 4-(diethylamino)salicylaldehyde was 1 × 10−6 mol/L. The selectivity, competition, and fluorescence sensing mechanism of the present material were investigated.
