Abstract

With the development of smart grid, power system communication network and intelligent electrical appliance, grid cyber physical system (GCPS) has come to existence. GCPS is a space-time multidimensional heterogeneous system integrated with cyber system and power system. Construction of GCPS greatly improves the sensibility and controllability of system and devices in power systems, providing not only global information assurance for wide-area control in transmission network but also possibility for active response control in distribution network. Meanwhile, the injection of massive field data and participation of load in demand response have brought challenges to traditional control methods. In this paper several critical problems concerning grid cyber physical system are put forward and a general framework for preventive and emergency load control are proposed. The methods to simulate the dynamic characteristics of GCPS are also provided, including co-simulation platforms and a new strategy for time synchronization between simulation tools. Future studies can refer to this paper as a guidance.
