Abstract

Fluorine as an essential trace element for human body, plays a vital role in human health. However, excessive intake, mainly through potable water, will cause adverse effects on human health. Therefore, establishing simple and effective methods for monitoring the concentration of fluorine in potable water is crucial for environmental protection and human health. In this work, a functional zirconium based MOF with excellent fluorescent detection performance was investigated. Its detection limit of F- was 0.743 ppm in aqueous solution. Based on the excellent sensitivity, a fluorescent test paper which fabricated by in situ growth of zirconium based MOF onto the surface of filter paper was following investigated. The result manifested that the test paper had an effective detection of fluorine.
