Abstract
The Air Resources Laboratories' trajectory model was used to calculate ten-day back trajectories from Mauna Loa Observatory (3400m) over a period of five years (February 1975 to January 1980). The trajectories were classified and summarized in order to produce a long-range trajectory climatology. The results show the strong east-west flow dichotomy across the Pacific during the period of study. As would be expected, individual years have marked variations from the five-year pattern.
