Abstract

The Farm Camapua constituted the first permanent Portuguese core of Mato Grosso do Sul, became front line of settlements and extremely important for a colony whose borders were transitory and moving. As a supplier for moncoeiros who addressed to the Gold mines in Cuiaba, and producer of agricultural genres and slaughter animals, also played an important role in the Portuguese expansion policy in order to reinforce the submission and exploitation of the native people, especially the Caiapos people, legitimate inhabitants of those territories.
