Abstract

This paper describes the operation of a TTL-based Fastbus [1] image processor, which has been designed to digitise and process signals from a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera. The CCD is used to detect and multiplex light produced by a scintillating fibre particle detector. This has been built as part of the upgrade of the UA2 detector at the CERN SPS collider, designed to take advantage of the increase in luminosity offered by the upgrade of the CERN Sp p S complex [2].
